The Encountered: Field Recognition Guide Now Available
4 March 2282
Attn: FLD OPS//MERC EXP//NWSEC ALL
During the past two years, many members of our organization have requested a concise version of The Encountered for reference in the field. I do not have to tell you that the ability to quickly and accurately identify encountered organisms in the field can mean the difference between life and death and we believe that this Field Recognition Guide (FRG) will allow you all to do just that. It will also prevent some of the duplication of effort that we have observed due to inefficient information management.
We believe that by using the FRG our field researchers will avoid spending time studying species that have already been discovered by others. We have also compiled and included approximately previously unpublished orthographic depictions of some very interesting specimens.

theRPGsite reviews The Encountered: Volume I
“This is a review of the print edition of the Alpha Omega sourcebook “The Encountered (Volume 1)”. It is a hardcover book, and DAMN is it beautiful. I mean literally, aesthetically beautiful. Like the main RPG manual for this game, the Encountered has production values up the wazoo. Its a hardcover, in a weird kind of coffee-table format (short and long), and has full-colour glossy interior, with truly amazing art. If you want to see some very high-quality art of weird monsters, then this would be the book for you.” - theRPGsite.
