So say a character has the Energy source and the control intention.

How would you use it to say open a electro magnetic lock or electronic lock. For example by disrupting the electricity to the magnet or sending power to the solenoid to open the lock?

Character Creation Flowchart

I really want to learn this game, but i guess for some of us slower folks. A character creation flow chart would be really helpful.
Has anyone taken the time to break down character creation into its steps, with a reference to what page we can go to?

I just killed one of my player for the second time in so two games. I love reckless suicidal players, I give them an “exit” before the big fight!

Any other ideas on how to stop the suicidal types?

Character Advancement Question.

I recently had this question come up and I couldn’t give them an immediate response. When a player is looking at spending CDP on developing their character, the book doesn’t really specify if they are looking to increase their Endurance or Hit Points if they can spend CDP on it.

Based on how I interpreted it, Hit Points are always based off Conditioning + Vitality and Endurance from Conditioning + Discipline. To that end, when either of those stats increase, the Max for that pool increases as well.

Does that sound about right? Or am I missing something?

Damage in combat

Hey, I’m relatively new to GM’ing AO. I have a question about damage dealt in combat. Does damage come straight out of the health pool or does it come out of the endurance pool first? I ask because I’ve combed the CRB several times and not found an answer.

Base stats (creating a character)

So I’m creating my first character and I have a couple questions. After selecting my species I am given my base stats. After recording my base stats I can use CDP to increase my stats. Now, because these modifications were made in character creation would the modified stat now be my base? As a Necrosi I increase my agility to 17 from the base 15. Do I note the base as 17 or do I note it as 15 with a mod of 2 and current of 17? I would assume the base is increased because the character sheet would make no note of were the additional 2 Agi came from.

Now once I figure that out. Are the base secondary qualities figured from the 17 or 15?

Am I doing movement right?

It seems a little weird to me that movement speed over the course of a round (or it is turn?... whichever one is the full span of 6 segments is what I’m talking about ) double dips off your reaction score. What I mean by this is:

1. Your movement speed increases based off your reaction score.
2. Your reaction score determines how many active segments you have, and you can move your full movement on each active segment.

I mean, #2 by itself already seems kind of weird. Go from a 13 to 14 reaction and you’ve effectively doubled your movement rate over the course of 6 seconds (if I’m understanding it right) because now you can move twice instead of once. For starting characters, it creates huge gaps in speed when they’re in some sort of encounter where they’re running away or towards something. The guys with 14 reaction quickly and hugely outpace the 13 reaction characters.

Which makes me wonder if I’m doing it right, since movement speed already seems to go up based on reaction score, aside from the whole active segment thing. Is movement speed supposed to be how far you can move through that entire 6 segments, or is it on a per segment basis?

How long does First Aid Medicine check last?

So under 7.11.12, ‘Healing,’ the book states that you can use the Medicine skill to heal characters by increasing their regen rates. It does not say how long this effect lasts. Anyone had any experience with this, or does everyone just use Weilding to heal people?

Another quick question!

I have a player who’s running an A.I. He dropped his strength to 1, and then took cybernetic arms, which have a str rating of 15. When figuring out secondary and tertiary levels, like physis and stuff, do you calculate using str 1 or str 15?
