Greetings from the Lab!

We wanted to give you an update on a few items we’ll be releasing in September.

The first is the PDF version of The Encountered. If you have already purchased a hard copy of the book and would like to receive a PDF copy simply send us an email and we’ll send it to you as soon as it’s released (please use the same email address you used to place your order). This applies to anyone who purchases a hard copy up until the release of the PDF version (end of Sept).

Episodes 3 & 4 of Little Yoshida will also be released.

Our next module, The Job is completing layout and will be ready for release in mid Sept.

NWSEC Monthly Creature Feature

The NWSEC and its research community are actively documenting new creature discoveries everyday and will begin a monthly Creature Feature here on the NWSEC Collaborative Workspace. Each month we will feature a new creature discovery, sharing a detailed description including all relevant research data and everything players of AO need to incorporate it into their games.

Greetings from the Lab!

We wanted to give you an update on what we are working on. The new Alpha Omega website will go live next week. When the new site goes up we’ll kick it off by announcing the first of our six new authors and their project. We plan to announce one new author every week. Some of these projects are already completed and just waiting for layout so you’ll start to see them roll out at the end of Feb first of March. We expect the character creator to be ready by April.

Greetings from the Lab!

Looking back 2009 was a very exciting year us. It saw the launch of the first Alpha Omega creature manual, the Warden program, our living campaign, the new AO forums, selling out our entire inventory at Gen Con 2009 and a very rapid expansion of our player base around the world. There were also several large initiatives being worked on in the background that we may be able to announce in 2010.

As great as 2009 was we are more interested in looking forward to what will happen in 2010. The first thing you will see is the launch of the new Alpha Omega website and character creator. The new website will give us more more flexibility on how we communicate. The character creator has been a project on the back burner for awhile and we are looking forward to getting this into your hands very early in the new year.

Starting in January we’ll also begin announcing several new authors that have joined Mind Storm Labs. Some of these authors you will recognize and others are new authors we think have tremendous potential. You will start to see new modules, supplements and stories from these writers beginning in February and continuing through the year.

Our next major supplement will be, “Prelude to War”. Prelude to War is a significant supplement for the Alpha Omega universe as it provides setting material surrounding the Evolutionary War and detailed information regarding the Seraph and Ophanum species. It will also contain the rules for a table-top wargame that operates on a fast-moving, streamlined game engine designed to make combat simple and fun. To compliment the release of the table-top wargame we’ll be releasing thirty miniatures based on Alpha Omega characters and creatures.

The core team is also working on several major initiatives that will expand Alpha Omega beyond the table top industry. We are very excited about these opportunities and we look forward to being able to share them with you as soon as possible.

Greetings from the Lab!

We are very excited to welcome everyone back to the new and improved Alpha Omega forums.

First off we want to say a big “Thank You” to our web development team that managed the transfer of the old AO forums to this new platform.

We are still working out all the bugs so if you encounter a problem please post the item in the Forum Technical Issues thread.

The new forums are just the beginning, we’ll be launching the new Alpha Omega website very soon followed by the character creator. After the holidays we’ll be announcing several new authors and projects for 2010.

Alpha Omega Writing Contest!!

The team at Mind Storm Labs is proud to announce our first official Alpha Omega writing competition!

Do you have a great idea for a story or adventure based in the world of Alpha Omega? Now is your chance to bring that idea to reality and possibly win some cash in the process! Until July 31st, we will be accepting submissions for short stories and modules based on, and for use with, the Alpha Omega RPG. Once we have reviewed all of the submissions, we will announce the winners of the competition at GenCon 2009 and award the following prizes:

- Must contain at least one adventure designed to be played through at least two four-hour gaming sessions.
- Must use already established Alpha Omega content or may contain original locations, personalities, equipment, creatures, etc.
- Must have at least two combat encounters.
- May contain maps and illustrations, but these are not a requirement.
- Must use the 6-6 System.

- Must be at least 10,000 words long.

Winning authors will be given credit as the author of the content they submitted, but all submitted material becomes the property of Mind Storm Labs.

The Encountered - Update from Mind Storm Labs

Greetings from the Mind Storm Labs team,
We wanted to give everyone an update on the development of the first Alpha Omega creature manual, "The Encountered: Volume One". First, if you haven’t been following the artwork development on Twitter or Twitpics be sure to check it out. We post concept art and nearly completed designs of some of the creatures you’ll be encountering very soon.
We had anticipated releasing The Encountered the first week of November however we’ve decided to delay the release so we can get the book completed exactly how we want. Our goal is to top the Alpha Omega Core Rulebook in all areas and unfortunately with a printed product you only get once chance to do it right, you can’t go back and patch it once it’s released. As we grow as a company we are finding our philosophy is moving more towards taking our time and releasing great products rather than pushing a product thru development in order to reach a release date.
We know everyone is waiting for The Encountered so we’ve decided to release a free PDF condensed version in mid November. It will contain ten creatures from The Encountered as well as a section of the introduction. We are selecting ten creatures that should give you a good sense of the broad range of monstrosities you’ll be doing battle with.
If you have already pre ordered The Encountered, thank you. We appreciate your support and don’t worry we have a special treat for all of you who have pre ordered the book.
The hard copy of the creature manual is not very far behind.
Also we wanted to say thanks to everyone who is participating on the forums, its a great thrill for all of us to see the game take on a life of its own and hear about how much others are enjoying it.
