So I have been playing with Xarlos’s character sheet. I know it was made by one of the posters here I just can’t remember his Forum name.

I was messing with the excel sheet it outputs and I am having some trouble and wondered if I could get some help. I am trying to clean up some of the code for the weapon boxes. I cleaned up the equipment section some and added the ability to calculate the value of equipment. and give you the amount of trust after item is purchased.

I have an OpenOffice sheet here which does character creation, and keeps track of all CDP spent and gained:

http://criticalhit.dk/node/15

It has all abilities, drawbacks, deviations, skills and wielding in there. Just use the drop down boxes in the purple fields to add new abilities, drawbacks etc. CDP can be tracked at the top, and is changed automatically based on the race you pick, and the starting core qualities of that race. The sheet is on tab #1 and tab #2 (not meant for modification, but merely as output based on choices on first sheet.

It does not work with excel 2007. Unfortunately. I don’t have room for 2 office programs. Also my character is already in the other sheet.

Well, converting it would be pretty easy. Open it in OpenOffice and save as XLS.

I don’t have openoffice.

Okay, perhaps other people can help you ? smile (Me or one of the others in the community?)
Or you can use a small shareware tool to accomplish the same? http://www.downloadatoz.com/business_directory/convert-multiple-openoffice-ods-files-to-xls-files-software/ e.g.

Your the one who said converting it is easy… its not easy if you don’t have Open Office. And really I am happy with the app I am using. I was just tinkering with the excel sheet and ran into trouble with a part of it.

Hey man, it IS easy. I pointed you towards a small shareware tool as well with no limitations AFAIK.

Please don’t turn this into a technology discussion if you’re basically happy with what you got. I was about to publish the charsheet in both excel and openoffice versions last night, but since you’re happy with the old sheet, that wouldn’t have helped you - which is all I’m trying to do. smile

I’d be happy to see this sheet in excel if you can post it, thanks!

http://criticalhit.dk/node/15 now has an .xls file as well. I could see some of the layout was screwed, but it should give you an idea.

Remember: All purple fields are dropdowns and can be easily modified that way for skill selection etc.

It’s not too shabby, but need to incorporate Ascension and allow a place in the first tab to enter the CDP cap, so that you can create characters with a higher CDP level.

Thanks KaneSolo! Yeah, it was meant as a character generator and not as much a place to maintain it :*) Let’s see if it evolves in that direction once the players start using it (tonight!).

I appreciate it. I just like the layout to the sheet I am using now. I just need some help with some of the formulas.
