So I got the rulebook and decided (rather insanely) to make a character for each race, to see the differences firsthand in style and concepts. So far, I’ve kinda grown attached to the AI race, since I’m certainly not imaginative when it comes to wielding. So, here’s a PDF of a 500 CDP Artificial Intelligence character named Saras. Concepts I went with included big, imprecise weapons and no one really needs charisma. The shotgun alone can blast entire characters to bits on a good roll, and I made sure detection was high and reaction was dang fast. No one likes slow robots. So, follow the links below, feel free to download, give feedback, and just generally be forum people.

Feedback:

1) george the ugly “female” robot?
2) in equipment, why do you have a custom holster and a sling? you only need one or the other.

The concept looks good and I think it makes a great “frontline” character.
I do wonder about the skill points spent in “social” skills.
After all, if you are dropping Charisma, it doesn’t make sense that the character has a focus on social skills.
But without a character background/write up, I may be off base.

Yeah, perhaps George wasn’t the best name. I was thinking he/she would look similar to the AI drawing on the page, just metal, with no skin. And as far as the holster and sling, I guess I overlooked that. And come tot hink of it, you’re right. I should move some of the skills from Bluff to Sense Action, and to Detection. I don’t even know why I put Bluff.

The backstory is this: Saras was a security bot stolen before she was activated by a band of marauders. She was programmed to enforce security and strike fear in a technology development lab, and the mauraders activated her, and use her as a front man for raiding warehouses. Saras of course received no respect and was regarded as property by the band and stole one of the vehicles and drove off, looking for another band to show more respect.

Would be good if there was some sort of “incident” that sparked her rebellion against the mauraders and perhaps initiated her new “personality”.
I picture HK from the Old Republic series, where it started as something innocent and then hidden programming kicks in.

you can always keep the social skills, but have them low, as something that the AI has aspired to after his rebellion.  After all, at some point he would recognize that he is an individual and can participate in social situations, no matter how misguided at first he may be…

true, so once the “incident” hit, it would justify the beginning of the social adaptation

That’s actually something I never would have thought of. Thank you, guys. I’m just so not used to writing backstories to things I have trouble figuring everything out. If anyone has any characters they like, with stories and all, I’d like to see more on this board. It’s a great way to immerse yourself in this culture.
