We know who Van Mantra and Ethan Haas are.
We know what Triton Enterprises and Divinus are.

Nowhere do I find an explanation of the Mezin.

Who are they?  What are they up to?

Well from there wording, (Namely the use of "Blasphemy") I can guess a sort of Zealot like group. The web site and Haas writing (Read in the videos from the EHWR site before the 1st) that it probably has a lot to do with an apocolyptic vision.

[color=#4000FF:984b4]Most likely, the Mezin are either the Seraph or Ophanum.[/color:984b4]

Info for the Mezin is up on the site now:

"The Mezin are a brotherhood of Grigori determined to rule Earthafter the next Evolutionary war.  Although its origin remains clouded in mystery, according to legend, the Mezin was founded by a handful of Grigori around 6000 BC, with the sole purpose of preparing for the next Evolutionary war.

After centuries of service to their home world, the allure of controlling humans became overpowering.  They abandoned the commitment to their creators and took up rule over several tribes of humans in North Africa.  The Grigori were veritable gods among their followers; they were powerful Wielders and practically immortal compared to humans.

As the centuries marched on, it became clear to the Mezin that they would have to prepare for the return of their creators, either by fleeing certain execution or by confronting their former masters.  The first phase of their rebellion required the elimination of all other Evolutionaries on Earth still serving the Seraph and Ophanum.  To that end, they scoured the darkest corners of the planet, assassinating as many as they recruited.  As the brotherhood grew, they saw an opportunity to seize control for themselves when the Seraph and Ophanum left once more.

During the 21st century, their primary nemesis was Van Mantra, whom they hunted relentlessly.  Their goal - to quiet Van’s warnings and prevent humans from knowing of their world - would once again become the battlefield for the Seraph and Ophanum.  Some speculate that the Mezin allied themselves with a group of Amunnaki assassins who attempted to carry out a contract on Van and his family.

In 2280, the Mezin are a feared and reviled group of Evolutionaries led by the rarely seen Vedor Mezin, one of the brotherhood’s founding members and a ruthless power-seeker."

My theory was kind of right, they ARE Grigori, and they WERE sent to scout for the Evolutionaries, but they’ve defected or so it seems.

Yeah, I actually found myself considering joining them (err, in-game, of course), but I don’t want to be a Grigori (Not keen on the species concept).

Hmm, It says they worked with Anunnaki assassins, though, and that’s a possibility.  <!—s:twisted:—>{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_twisted.gif<!—s:twisted:—>

Same here, than I realized I would rather not get involved with the mess they make.  <!—s:?—>{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_confused.gif<!—s:?—>

Sounds to me like the Mezin were the Egyptian gods… and possibly some of the other gods… Was Jesus a Grigori?

Well…

I think that, as the Grigori (if they’re following any sort of real world based mythology) they would have been the ones responsible for teaching humans all that they know today. So yeah, Egyptian Gods could be one precept, as could the Atlanteans, The Aztec Gods, The Lemurians, etc. Several ancient civilizations could be considered Grigori Civilizations (or other powerful ancient races).

"teaching humans all they know today" sounds a whole lot like Dagon… I’d love to see Dagon as a Grigori.

You know… they aren’t too clear on the different visual appearances of these species… maybe a grig was designed for aquatic habitation… but came up and taught us great things… It’s beginning to look a lot like fish men! *begins singing Cthulhu x-mas carols*
