In the section discussing active segments, it’s not clear in the explanation what core quality should be associated with active segments. It’s explicitly stated in the example that the reaction score is the core quality that determines active segments, but it may be beneficial to explicitly state it in the explanation.  <!—s:mrgreen:—>{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_mrgreen.gif<!—s:mrgreen:—>

Edit: To sum up, the fact that the Reaction score is the determining factor in Active Segments isn’t mentioned at all until the example.

Edit: This is in section 7.5.1 [i:7f7d1]Active Sements[/i:7f7d1]

Greetings from the Lab!

Thanks MLSS,

We’ll be sure to add it to the explanation and Figure 7-1. This is definitely an important point to clarify as it’s integral to game play.

I’ve noted both of these to the compiled errata.

Thanks MLSS!

I thought that Active Segments were determined through Reaction Tertiary Quality (Figure 7-1) and then a Reaction Check (whose dice pool is also determined by checking your Reaction Tertiary Quality in Figure 7-1) was used to determine the Reaction Score (and so the Reaction Order) within a given Segment.

So, if I have a RTQ of 20 I know I’ll be active in Segments 3 and 6, then I’ll make the Reaction Check with 4d6+2d4 and whatever score I get will be my Reaction Score for those Segments.

Confuse-A-Cat.

I have just noticed that I have posted in a thread whose last post was written more than a year ago, so I guess I’m pretty lost, having missed a lot of important info…  <!—s:?—>{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_confused.gif<!—s:?—>

The one thing I would add is that it seems that Reaction Score is only calculated once per combat:

Section 7.6.5 - Step 5, Repeat Steps 3 and 4 until Combat is Resolved.
