It’s been the $64,000 question of the month for me. One part of me says to save the money to buy the books that are coming out later this year and go the following year to lend support to the MSL crew. The other part of me would love to meet some of my friends in Indiana and since I almost have enough air miles, and a couch to stay on, that money I was reserving to buy the books with could go to pay for the rest of the travel expenses. I’m confident this year that a lot of people who are looking for a clear alternative to 4th ed DnD might gravitate to AO so there’s going to be a lot of interest and probably a lot of questions for the MSL gang so another person to help in that regard wouldn’t hurt. The game convention events are not really grabbing at me but the game widow’s event schedule is. Go figure. <!—s:?—>{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_confused.gif<!—s:?—> [/color:27aeb][/quote:27aeb]
I think the interest really is going to be up. 4th Edition has its merits but I don’t see the community reacting altogether favorably to it. I think the sci-fi meets fantasy theme of AO will itself attract attention. The viral campaign worked wonders in that regard and I’d like to see that energy and interest back.
I’ve gone the last two years and I’ll def be back this year. I tend to hang mostly within the hall, checking things out and shopping. I usually jump into at least one game but in the evenings, I tend to go out in the city. Some friends and I are doing True Dungeon so that should be interesting. I might try to do a few seminars this year. We’ll see I guess.
As it looms closer we’ll have to get a list together of who is going.
