Hey guys,

I’m wondering if MSL / AO will be at Gen Con again this year.  I haven’t taken a dedicated look through the Events but I haven’t seen anything with MSL or AO.  I’m hoping I’ll see you guys there.  Your booth last year was great and I greatly appreciated speaking with the team about the game.

Heya SilentInfinity,

The PTB must have known this question was coming as they had posted on their MySpace blog[/url:bb214] about GenCon Indy just this past Friday.  <!—s:geek:—>{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_geek.gif<!—s:geek:—>

Excellent.  I’m all for psychic powers if they are used to anticipate my needs and desires.

Rock on.

You going to Gen Con Myri?

Greetings from the Lab!

Myridean is correct!

Mind Storm Labs is pleased to announce our attendance at Gen Con Indy 2008.

You’ll find us at booth 2107.  Stop by, say hello, play a demo and get a sneak peek of the upcoming Alpha Omega Creature Manual.

We also have a few more surprises planned for Gen Con that we will announce next month.

It’s been the $64,000 question of the month for me. One part of me says to save the money to buy the books that are coming out later this year and go the following year to lend support to the MSL crew. The other part of me would love to meet some of my friends in Indiana and since I almost have enough air miles, and a couch to stay on, that money I was reserving to buy the books with could go to pay for the rest of the travel expenses. I’m confident this year that a lot of people who are looking for a clear alternative to 4th ed DnD might gravitate to AO so there’s going to be a lot of interest and probably a lot of questions for the MSL gang so another person to help in that regard wouldn’t hurt. The game convention events are not really grabbing at me but the game widow’s event schedule is. Go figure.  <!—s:?—>{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_confused.gif<!—s:?—>

My husband just mentioned if I do go down and volunteer, MSL could compensate me in books.LOL Like that’s going to happen. <!—s:P—>{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_razz.gif<!—s:P—>[/color:d3f4e]

Hmm…

Indianapolis is only about a 3 hour hike from Chicago (less the way I drive)...  I may just have to grab my buddies and make it my last road trip as a single man.

I think the interest really is going to be up.  4th Edition has its merits but I don’t see the community reacting altogether favorably to it.  I think the sci-fi meets fantasy theme of AO will itself attract attention.  The viral campaign worked wonders in that regard and I’d like to see that energy and interest back.

I’ve gone the last two years and I’ll def be back this year.  I tend to hang mostly within the hall, checking things out and shopping.  I usually jump into at least one game but in the evenings, I tend to go out in the city.  Some friends and I are doing True Dungeon so that should be interesting.  I might try to do a few seminars this year.  We’ll see I guess.

As it looms closer we’ll have to get a list together of who is going.

Hi Everybody,

It’s official, I will be running AO’s first official game at Gen Con this year on Thursday, August 14, 11:30 am (time to be confirmed).  I’m so excited!  I got to be the first to run AO at CanGames, now I’m the first to run it at Gen Con!  Woo hoo!  If any of you were in my Can Games game, please give me feedback so I can improve for Gen Con (positive feedback is preferred <!—s:lol:—>{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_lol.gif<!—s:lol:—> ).

Thanks,
Chris

Croth -

Are you running an original mission, or going through Milk Run?  That also makes me wonder when the Larsa Meteor module will be complete…

I will be running an original module.  I think Milk Run is great and Gus did an awesome job, but a lot of people have already played or read it.  What I am running is very similar to what I ran at CanGames.  Dave Carter playtested it and suggested it for GenCon with a few modifications.  There are both role-playing and combat opportunites and I will be incorporating a few of the monsters from the yet to be released Creature Guide.

GenCon was a blast as was getting to meet Aaron and Rich (I had already met Earl, Dave, and Tom - they are fun too).

I cannot wait until the creature manual is out, the artwork is truly amazing. Of course the only problem is that I am going to be meeting some of those monsters <!—s:o—>{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_surprised.gif<!—s:o—>

Thanks guys for a really great time at the Con.

It was great chatting with you too.  Thanks for stopping by the booth and saying hi to the team.  We’re looking forward to delivering The Encountered to you!
