The Alpha Omega official managed campaign will allow you to create an AO character (or multiple characters) and play them in sanctioned events and conventions anywhere in the world, allowing you to keep any CDPs, gear, and other goodies for your character as you explore the world of Alpha Omega and learn its mysteries.

We are currently developing this program, but encourage everyone to check back from time to time to see if there are any new developments.  Also, since this campaign is provided for YOU to participate in, we hope that you will help us by letting us know what you would be interested in seeing (or not seeing) in such a setting.

How does one find a local GM running the Managed Campaign?

KaneSolo and possibly Brother Eli will be the Wardens for the Los Angeles area.
Once we get to see some of the modules that are upcoming, we will post dates/times for the Los Angeles area.

We are currently scoping out the following sites, if anyone from Los Angeles area wants to vote for their preferences:

Santa Monica - Aero Hobbies
Torrance - Third Planet
Pasadena - Game Empire

Let us know, we’ll be happy to make AO available to the greater Los Angeles area!

Any GM can run scenarios from AO:Evolutions.  However, only Wardens get them after their original debut at a convention or special event.  Once the Wardens have had a chance to run the events, we’ll make a determination whether or not a scenario will be released to the public or possibly bundled and sold for a nominal fee, such as “Milk Run”.  At that point, your local GM can get the adventure and run it as part of their home campaign, or if desired, run exclusively AO:E scenarios.  If the latter, the player can still take their character around to other conventions and play their character.  Once you play a non-AO:E event, that character cannot be used in other AO:E events, but could certainly be used in home campaigns.

So, the short answer to your question is that at this time, no adventures have been released to the general public.  The first ones are expected to be released 4Q/2010 (they will be played at Gencon for the last time)

That didn’t really answer my question. How do I find an event that is AO Evolutions?

Wardens should be announcing them on the boards.
Once I have established a location with my local gaming shops, I will post my events on here for anyone near me who wants to attend.
Other Wardens will be putting up flyers at the local shops (I will do that also).

What I’m curious about is if there is a chance that someone, who plays at multiple events with the same character, might have that character actually show up in the continuing story of Alpha Omega?

That would be really cool.
If a character went through many of the Evolutions modules, then became an NPC later on.

As virtual Warden, I’ll be overlooking the sanctioned online version of the AO Evolutions managed campaign, so when we’re ready at NeoPangea, I’ll be doing a callout for players who couldn’t attend a con or special event in person. As I mentioned in my other thread, http://www.alphaomegathegame.com/index.php/forums/viewthread/734/#4469, it is different from NeoPangea’s home campaign and the awarding of CDP is treated differently as well compared to the home campaign.
