[color=#BF80FF:d7179]With Rich Osterhout talking about the managed campaign taking place primarily in New York (or rather what’s left of it in 2282), do you think those interested in participating would be open to playing events online in[i:d7179] Second Life[/i:d7179]?
For those who are not familiar with [i:d7179]Second Life[/i:d7179], it is possible to speak in realtime ingame with one another as well as have full customization over the character’s appearance and movement. There are lots of free options but there is the option to purchase as well for further enhancements.
As I’ve mentioned before in a posting here for another game called, [i:d7179]I am Legend[/i:d7179], a 60 block representation of a deserted post-apocalyptic New York City was created. The movie promotion is over and done with but it’s not impossible with raising the right amount of cash, talent and the legal right to copy the models from their game and place them on a piece of virtual land that has been bought, a virtual environment can be created for characters to meet online and interact for roleplaying.
I’m willing to look into this further in the new year on what we would need in terms of effort, time and of course, money to launch a project like this if there is enough interest and willingness to volunteer any of the three above.
