This year’s Gencon was simply LEGEND (wait for it…) DARY!!!

First, I’m sure Tom will post something somewhere about our sales, but suffice it to say that we SOLD OUT of every book we brought along.  In fact, a lot of people purchased both the core rules AND the Encountered.  We had a lot of people that decided to try the game first and after playing that game, returned to the booth to purchase a book!

Now on the gaming side - we ALSO SOLD OUT!!!  To put things in perspective, last year, we ran three events.  This year, we ran almost THIRTY events…and about two thirds of the tables were FULL with 6 players!  Most of the other tables had five players.  In fact, there were a couple of events where we had to TURN PEOPLE AWAY because we were full!  In total, we had over 150 people play Alpha Omega at the con.

I’d like to thank all those that came out to play the games, and hope that you enjoyed yourselves!  I would be interested in your comments, both good and bad, which you can either post here as a reply or email to me at <!—e—>community@mindstormlabs.com<!—e—>.  Please include the name of the adventure and time slot if possible.  Second, I’d like to personally and publically thank all those that volunteered their time to help make these events happen by being gamemasters - Alex Gordon, Ken Remalia and Chris Rothwell from our Warden crew, along with Matthew Gulliver, Jennifer Rothwell, Matthew Phillips, and Nathan Stiles all helped run events during the convention.

We can now move forward towards next year’s event!

I am one of the proud purchasers of the Core Book and Encounters 1.  The booth was great looking and I bought the books after someone showed me the artwork and just talked the setting up.  I didn’t even get to get into an event till Sunday when I played the Eclipse module.  It was a great time and the system blended with the story great.  The GM was also high-class and did the system and game a great service.  You guys were awesome.

Thanks Drekon!
Do you remember which GM you had??  Our three GMs for Epsilon Gambit were Chris, Ken, and Alex…

I don’t remember his name.  (Sorry, I am REALLY bad with them.)  But he did play in some big DND event during the fire alarm fiasco.  (Go figure, I can’t remember his name, but I remember some of the events he was telling us about)  He ran a really fun event and kept telling us how he was glad the adventure ended up more Mission Impossible and less Bourne Identity.

I must say, after playing in the Gamma Discovery Game, that Chris’s NPC acting is top notch. His playing of Falstaff, in particular just made my day. My only regret was that the group I was playing with kept getting sidetracked into rules discussions, which by the way, Chris handled wonderfully. Just wish the others at the table would have gotten more into the story. Oh well.

I plan on running a couple of demo games myself at my local game store, now that I have had a taste of the goodness.

So, I was the guy in the green shirt playing in the youtube vid.  So, that’s the GM that did a great job.

Ah, Sounds like you had a great time, glad to hear it.

The GM at your Table was Warden Ken, I’d expect we will both be back next year and looking forward to seeing players return!

Thanks for fixing my login, as I’m now back with The Encountered in my hands.  When I discovered that my gaming organization (Table Top Gamers <!—m—>http://forums.ttgamers.com/forums/default.aspx<!—m—> ) was not going to have any group plans for Friday evening.  I found myself with funds enought to dash back and pick up The Encountered.  Since I was only attending one day, I really didn’t have the opportunity to chat more.  Though I am surprised that the first people I talked with remembered my Circuits article that I do intend to expand upon it shortly.  I’ve gotten back into the game because a buzz got started regarding Alpha Omega on the TTG site, and with me knowing most about the game I got involved.

[color=#8080FF:0d76b]I’m so glad to hear that GenCon was a great success. Once again, I couldn’t go because of finances but next year, it shouldn’t be a problem. *knocks on wood*

Btw, is there anyone going to DragonCon next month? Not that I’ll be there but it sounds like it’s another great place to spread the AO loving. <!—s;)—>{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_e_wink.gif<!—s;)—> If any fans will be there, don’t forget to wear your AO shirt with pride.  <!—s:mrgreen:—>{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_mrgreen.gif<!—s:mrgreen:—>  [/color:0d76b]

I was wondering if you determined who won the Gencon trip next year?  I was one of the ones who bought both books.

Greetings from the Lab!

The winner has been notified and we are just waiting to hear back from them as to whether they want to accept the prize.  If they don’t we’ll pick the first runner up.

Mind Storm Labs will be at Gen Con again this year.  In fact we already have our booth number.  grin

All of the upcoming releases under the products tab on the Alpha Omega website should be available before Gen Con 2010.

The winner for the all expense paid trip to Gen Con 2010 did accept his prize and we are looking forward to seeing him there!

Not to mention that we will be running over 40 events this year, including a new trilogy of adventures covering Prelude to War and our first limited seat tournament (single table, 6 seats, FCFS).  There will be plenty of opportunities to play Alpha Omega throughout the convention!
