My girlfriend and I spent a good hour just looking at all the artwork, and marveling at it. Just the images alone are inspiring for creating a game, I can only imagine what the text has to offer. Not much else I can say about it right now, aside from how amazing the print job and the layout is.

I don't think I paid enough money for customer service like this. MSL did about as good of a job as they could have to make me a happy customer. Anyway, I'm off to read again. I just wanted to pop in and say thanks for the great customer service. I'll be back later when my grubby little hands grub up the pages a little more.

Just got my copy in the mail. I've only gotten to the third chapter, and I must say, I'm impressed. The flavor in the book is written in such a way that the more I read, the more I'm genuinely excited to start playing. Additionally, the layering of organizations and locations is complex enough that I can feel confident that my group and I are going to be able to use this setting for a long time. And that's not even mentioning the wonderful art that's found throughout the book. Well done, MSL. This was certainly worth the wait.

PopMatters: The world of AO is very ambitious, and seems to successfully combine several genres. The cities and arcologies provide a cyberpunk feel; the Wilds more a Mad-Max/post-apocalypse flavor. Then the magic system and the aliens together bring a Cthulhu vibe of cosmic horror. It seems you could run a dozen different types of campaign in the same world.

If you like good, in-depth sci-fi set in a dark distopia you'll probably be interested in the setting.
If you like games systems that step away from D20 cookie cutters, you'll have a blast with the rules.
If you like generous amounts of eye-candy and inspiration for your games, look no further.

If I could sum up the review on Alpha Omega in a single word, it would be “wow!” Before I even get into the game mechanics or theme of the game, I want to share what impressed me first; the overall quality of this book.

This publication contains cover-to-cover, full-color printing and artwork that rivals the high priced illustrations found in WotC and World of Darkness products. Without proven and profitable titles like Star Wars or Dungeons and Dragons, the folks at Mindstorm Labs put a lot of faith (and funds) into this body of work. Not only is the art breathtaking, it does the job of what art is supposed to do in games like these, give the viewer a vibrant illustration of the look, feel, and emotion of the world the writers are creating.

This book not only contains the best art work of any RPG I have ever seen, but even has a rich and very customizable setting. The game mechanics are clever and logical though I believe that scaling could have been done more accurately with rules of thumb more rather than attribute chunked ranges in tables all the time.
